Elizabeth Moody
Elizabeth Moody made a memorable mark in genre cinema with her role as Vera in Peter Jackson’s cult horror-comedy Braindead. Her performance captured the perfect blend of eerie composure and dark humor, anchoring a film known for its outrageous gore and inventive storytelling. Moody’s understated delivery lent her character an unsettling charm that stands out amid the film’s wild chaos. Though primarily an actor, she also took part in other projects that embraced offbeat and intense narratives, giving her a distinctive presence that resonates with fans of cult and horror cinema. Her work on Braindead, directed by Jackson before his Lord of the Rings fame, connects her to a key moment in New Zealand’s vibrant film history and the rise of clever, boundary-pushing genre films from the region. Fans returning to those wild zombie antics will find Moody’s calm, almost detached performance a quietly compelling highlight.
