Heather Donahue
Heather Donahue captured audiences with her unsettling performance as Heather in The Blair Witch Project, a film that blurred the lines between fiction and reality and reshaped found-footage horror. Her naturalistic portrayal of a documentary filmmaker lost in the woods made the terror more immediate and believable, sparking a cult following and ongoing discussions about storytelling in horror. After Blair Witch, Donahue stepped away from acting to explore writing and other creative pursuits but remains best recognized for that breakthrough role. Her contribution to the film’s authenticity helped define a new style of suspense that many filmmakers have since revisited. While The Blair Witch Project remains her signature work, it’s her ability to anchor the film in raw emotion and vulnerability that keeps fans returning to her performance.
