Seizaburō Kawazu

Seizaburō Kawazu contributed his talents as a supporting actor in classic Japanese cinema, most notably in Akira Kurosawa’s Yojimbo. In Yojimbo, he played one of the townsfolk caught in the crossfire of the ronin Sanjuro’s scheming, adding texture to the chaotic, grimy setting that made the film so memorable. While Kawazu’s name might not be as widely recognized as other Kurosawa regulars, his presence helped deepen the world of samurai drama during a vibrant era for Japanese film. His understated performances remain part of the rich tapestry that defines mid-20th century jidaigeki storytelling.
