Timothy Balme
Timothy Balme made a striking impression as the rebellious boyfriend Pa in Peter Jackson’s cult classic Braindead, a film that still stands out for its over-the-top gore and dark humor. His portrayal captures the chaos and charm that made the movie such a lasting favorite among genre fans. Balme’s performance fits perfectly in Jackson’s wild vision, balancing manic energy with a distinct Kiwi flavor that helped the film earn its place in horror-comedy history. Beyond Braindead, Balme’s work in New Zealand television, especially in shows like Mercy Peak, showcases his ability to bring grounded, complex characters to life, providing a contrast to his more outrageous roles in film. Though he is primarily known as an actor, Balme has also contributed as a writer, adding depth to the projects he’s involved with. For those diving into his filmography here, his role in Braindead offers a memorable glimpse of his skill at navigating the fine line between comedy and chaos, making him an unforgettable part of that cinematic world.
