A Bucket of Blood (1959)
Walter Paisley, a socially awkward busboy at a beatnik café, struggles to fit in with the hip crowd around him. Hoping to impress his coworker Carla, he attempts to create a bust of her, but an accident with his landlady’s cat leads to an unusual and unsettling solution involving plaster.
When Carla and her friends admire Walter’s sculpture, he is inspired to produce more works using the same unconventional method. As Walter pursues his newfound artistic ambition, he navigates the eccentric scenes of the café and his own awkward desire to belong.
