In a quiet suburban town, teenagers begin dying under mysterious circumstances linked to terrifying nightmares. Nancy Thompson, the daughter of a local police officer, uncovers that the source of the terror is Fred Krueger, a child molester who was killed by vengeful parents years ago.

Now, Krueger haunts the dreams of the children of those who wronged him, using their sleep as a gateway to exact his revenge. Nancy teams up with her boyfriend Glen as they seek a way to confront this sinister presence that blurs the line between dreams and reality.
