Air America (1990)
Billy Covington, a pilot who has just lost his license, is recruited to fly for Air America, a CIA-owned airline operating in Laos during the Vietnam War. Tasked with transporting soldiers, supplies, and aid to remote villages, Billy finds himself immersed in a chaotic environment filled with reckless pilots and dangerous missions. His new partner, Gene Ryack, is an experienced and maverick pilot who introduces Billy to the unconventional and often hazardous world of covert air operations.
As Billy adjusts to this risky new role, he discovers that beneath the surface of their official deliveries lies a darker reality. Gene becomes involved in gun-running activities, and Billy begins to unravel a network of opium smuggling orchestrated by some of their own superiors. Navigating between loyalty and suspicion, they must fly through the unpredictable skies of Laos while confronting the blurred lines between duty and corruption.
