Avatar (2009)

In the 22nd century, Jake Sully, a paraplegic Marine, is sent to the lush moon Pandora to join the Avatar Program, which enables humans to remotely control genetically engineered Na’vi-human hybrids. His mission is to gather intelligence to help the Resource Development Administration extract valuable unobtanium from Pandora’s rich environment.

As Jake navigates the alien world and interacts with the Na’vi, particularly Neytiri, he becomes caught between carrying out the military’s orders and protecting the native Na’vi people from exploitation. The conflict intensifies as he faces tough choices involving the advanced military forces led by Colonel Miles Quaritch and the spiritual struggles of Pandora’s inhabitants.
