Borat (2006)
Kazakh journalist Borat Sagdiyev (Sacha Baron Cohen) travels to America to film a documentary about American society and culture. Along the way, he becomes fascinated by American customs and meets an eclectic array of real-life people, capturing their often unfiltered reactions to his outrageous behavior. His journey takes a detour when he becomes obsessed with finding and marrying actress Pamela Anderson, leading him on a chaotic cross-country adventure. With his clueless, exaggerated persona, Borat unintentionally exposes societal prejudices and hypocrisies, using satire and shock humor to highlight cultural differences.
The film, directed by Larry Charles, blends scripted moments with unscripted interactions, resulting in a comedic yet provocative social commentary. Known for pushing boundaries, Borat became a global phenomenon, with Sacha Baron Cohen receiving acclaim for his daring performance and sharp satirical approach.
