Cape Fear (1962)

After serving an eight-year prison sentence for a violent crime witnessed by lawyer Sam Bowden, Max Cady is released and returns determined to exact revenge. Though Cady carefully skirts the law, his increasingly threatening presence starts to unsettle Bowden and his family.

As the tension escalates, Bowden must navigate the challenge of protecting his loved ones without giving Cady legal grounds for retaliation. The conflict centers on Cady’s menacing stalking and Bowden’s efforts to outwit a foe who knows how to exploit the boundaries of justice.
