Gangs of New York (2002)
In 1860s New York City, Irish immigrant Amsterdam Vallon returns to the violent Five Points neighborhood after serving time in prison. He seeks to avenge the death of his father at the hands of William Cutting, a ruthless gang leader known as Bill the Butcher who wields immense power over the anti-immigrant gangs controlling the area.
To confront Cutting, Amsterdam must infiltrate his tightly knit circle while navigating the brutal street conflicts that divide the city’s ethnic factions. His quest for revenge becomes a struggle not only for survival but also to secure a future for his fellow Irish immigrants amidst the chaos and corruption of the era.
