Godzilla (2014)
After an ancient alpha predator is accidentally awakened by nuclear tests, massive creatures known as MUTO (Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms) begin to wreak havoc on cities, feeding on radiation and leaving destruction in their wake. As humanity scrambles to contain the threat, Godzilla, a gigantic prehistoric sea monster and natural predator to the MUTO, emerges from the ocean. Lieutenant Ford Brody (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), a soldier with a personal connection to the crisis, teams up with scientists Dr. Ishiro Serizawa (Ken Watanabe) and Dr. Vivienne Graham (Sally Hawkins) to understand the creature’s origins and intentions.
As the MUTOs head toward a catastrophic showdown, Godzilla emerges as humanity’s unlikely defender. The film builds to an epic battle in San Francisco, with Godzilla clashing against the MUTOs in a battle that tests humanity’s resilience and questions the balance of nature. Directed by Gareth Edwards, the movie emphasizes suspense and scale, presenting Godzilla as a force of nature that cannot be controlled.
