Goin’ South (1978)
After being caught for a capital crime when his horse fails him during an escape to Mexico, Henry Moon finds himself in a small post-Civil War town with an unusual law. According to this rule, any single or widowed woman can save a condemned man by marrying him, offering a unique chance to avoid the gallows.
Henry soon crosses paths with one of these women, and their unusual arrangement sets the stage for both romance and comedy. As Henry navigates life under this quirky law, unexpected relationships and lively town characters add to the unconventional situation in the Southern frontier.
