In the snowy town of Whoville, the Grinch lives isolated on a mountain, bitter about the festive celebrations that fill the town each Christmas. Annoyed by the noise and cheer, he plots to steal Christmas by sneaking into Whoville and taking all the presents, decorations, and food.

Meanwhile, young Cindy Lou Who, a kind and curious girl, hopes to understand why the Grinch despises their holiday so much. Her innocent attempts to connect with him challenge his grumpy resolve, setting the stage for an unusual encounter between the reclusive creature and the joyful community below.
