John Brown, a clumsy security guard, suffers serious injuries in a bomb explosion orchestrated by a sinister villain. In an advanced robotics lab, Brenda, a top surgeon, rebuilds him with high-tech gadgets integrated into his body, creating a cyborg law enforcer dubbed Inspector Gadget by the media.

With the help of his clever niece Penny and her intelligent dog Brain, John embarks on a mission to track down the dangerous mastermind responsible for the attack. Together, they use his new abilities to navigate a world filled with peril and uncover the truth behind the plot.
