John Carter, a tired former military captain, suddenly finds himself on Barsoom, the alien world of Mars. There, he encounters strange creatures and warring factions, including the fierce Tharks and the beleaguered city-states struggling to survive. As he navigates this unfamiliar land, Carter becomes entangled in a fierce struggle that threatens to destroy Barsoom’s fragile balance.
