In Venice Beach, California, three teenage surfers—Stacy Peralta, Tony Alva, and Jay Adams—transform their laid-back pastime into a daring new style of skateboarding. Known as the Z-Boys, their innovative moves and fearless approach push the limits of the sport and attract a growing following.

As their underground skateboarding scene gains attention, the group faces challenges when commercial success turns their hobby into a business venture. The rise in fame and pressure to capitalize on their talent creates tension among the friends, testing their bonds and the future of their groundbreaking skateboarding legacy.
