Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)
A parody of the Arthurian legend, Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975) follows King Arthur (Graham Chapman) and his band of knights as they embark on a quest to find the Holy Grail. Along the way, they encounter a series of absurd and hilarious obstacles, from the infamous Black Knight who refuses to admit defeat, to a killer rabbit guarding a cave. Each knight’s journey is filled with bizarre characters, slapstick comedy, and the Pythons’ trademark satire, which pokes fun at medieval tropes, chivalric quests, and historical inaccuracies.
The film features the entire Monty Python comedy troupe, including John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, and Terry Gilliam, who also co-directed the movie with Jones. Known for its memorable quotes, low-budget special effects, and absurd humor, Monty Python and the Holy Grail has become a cult classic and is considered one of the greatest comedy films of all time.
