Moonrise Kingdom (2012)

On a small New England island in the summer of 1965, twelve-year-olds Sam and Suzy form a secret bond and decide to escape their isolated lives by running away into the nearby wilderness. Their disappearance sparks a search led by local authorities, including Scout Master Ward and police Captain Sharp, as well as concerned adults like Suzy’s parents.

As the island community scrambles to track down the young fugitives, a fierce storm approaches, threatening to disrupt the fragile order of the town. The tension between the children’s determination and the adults’ efforts to find them drives a story of youthful rebellion and unexpected connections amidst the unpredictable coastal setting.
