Rope (1948)

Brandon and Phillip, two college friends, believe they can commit the perfect crime after strangling their former classmate, David Kentley. To test their theory, they host a dinner party at their Manhattan apartment, inviting David’s parents, aunt, and former teacher.

Throughout the evening, the tension builds as Brandon and Phillip conceal their dark secret while engaging their unsuspecting guests in conversation. The confined setting of the apartment becomes a pressure cooker, where subtle clues and mounting unease create a suspenseful atmosphere.
