A Royal Affair (2012)

In 18th-century Denmark, Queen Caroline Mathilde finds herself trapped in a cold and distant marriage to King Christian VII. When Johann Friedrich Struensee, the young royal physician, arrives at court, he forms a secret bond with the queen that soon blossoms into a passionate love.

As their relationship deepens, Struensee begins to influence the king and push for progressive reforms that challenge the old order. The queen and her physician risk everything in an effort to reshape the kingdom, sparking tension among the nobility and setting the stage for a dramatic political upheaval.
