Jarlath Conroy
Jarlath Conroy leaves a distinct mark with his ability to inhabit quirky, often unsettling characters in genre films. Horror fans might remember him as the eccentric Dr. Matthews in George Romero’s Day of the Dead, where his performance added a layer of eerie humanity to the claustrophobic, zombie-infested world. Beyond that, his work ranges from stage to screen, but it’s in these intense, character-driven roles that he stands out. Whether delivering unsettling dialogue or embodying an offbeat presence, Conroy’s performances grab your attention and linger. Fans of offbeat cinema might also recognize his voice work in animated projects or his appearances on television, but it’s his ability to make small but memorable roles resonate—like in Day of the Dead—that truly defines his contributions to cult film history.
