The Mole People (1956)

A team of archaeologists led by Dr. Jud Bellam ventures into an icy mountain in Mesopotamia, uncovering a hidden world beneath the glacier. There, they encounter the remnants of a mutant Sumerian society that has survived five thousand years underground. This lost civilization is ruled by a mysterious hierarchy and clings to ancient customs and deities.

As the explorers attempt to understand and navigate this subterranean realm, they face dangers from hostile creatures and the society’s rigid control. Tensions rise as the archaeologists struggle to rescue a captive and find a way back to the surface, confronting the unknown forces that dominate the underground kingdom.
