The Shawshank Redemption (1994)

Andy Dufresne, a respected banker, is sentenced to Shawshank State Penitentiary in the 1940s for the alleged murders of his wife and her lover. Inside the prison, he uses his financial expertise to assist the corrupt warden with money laundering and prison administration. Despite the harsh environment, Andy maintains his composure and dignity.

Over time, Andy forms a bond with Ellis “Red” Redding, an inmate known for procuring contraband. Through his resilience and quiet determination, Andy gains the respect of fellow prisoners while navigating the complexities of prison life. The story centers on his efforts to adapt and endure within the confines of Shawshank.
