World Without End (1956)

Four astronauts returning from humanity’s first mission to Mars encounter a time warp that hurls them into the 26th century on Earth. After crash-landing, they discover a planet ravaged by atomic war yet breathable, unaware of the dire circumstances surrounding this future world.

They soon realize society is split between underground dwellers who live comfortably but suffer from a decaying gene pool due to lack of natural resources, and mutated surface inhabitants who survive in harsh, primitive conditions. The astronauts must navigate this tense division while searching for a way to return home.
