E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982)

When a small alien creature is accidentally left behind on Earth, a young boy named Elliott discovers it and decides to shelter the visitor in his home. Alongside his brother Michael and sister Gertie, Elliott forms a close and heartfelt connection with the alien, keeping its presence secret from adults and authorities.

As a government task force directed by Peter Coyote’s character searches for the extraterrestrial, the children must navigate the challenges of protecting their new friend while learning to communicate with him. Their efforts take place in an ordinary suburban setting, where ordinary objects and places become part of an extraordinary story.
