Santa Claus decides it’s time to retire and must find someone worthy to inherit his magic bag filled with Christmas surprises. To help with this important mission, Ernest P. Worrell, a well-meaning but bumbling taxi driver, teams up with a spirited teenage runaway.

Together, Ernest and the runaway try to persuade a reluctant television host known for children’s shows to become the next Father Christmas. Along the way, they encounter a variety of quirky characters, all while racing against time to ensure the Christmas spirit continues.
