Mighty Joe Young (1998)

Jill Young, who witnessed her mother’s death protecting a group of wild gorillas from poacher Andrei Strasser in Africa, now cares for Joe, an enormous 15-foot-tall gorilla born with a rare genetic condition. When wildlife expert Gregg O’Hara arrives from California, he persuades Jill that Joe would be safer at his specialized refuge.

As Joe is transported to the United States, Strasser follows them, driven by a desire to capture the giant gorilla for himself. The story centers on Jill, Gregg, and Joe confronting the dangers posed by Strasser while navigating unfamiliar territory far from home.
