Orca (1977)

After witnessing the death of its mate and unborn calf at the hands of a fisherman, a vengeful killer whale sets its sights on the man responsible. As the orca stalks and terrorizes a coastal community, a deadly game of survival unfolds between man and beast in the cold Atlantic waters.

Directed by Michael Anderson, *Orca* stars Richard Harris, Charlotte Rampling, and Will Sampson. Often compared to *Jaws*, the film distinguishes itself with emotional undertones and the orca’s uniquely driven revenge narrative, making it a notable entry in the animal-attack thriller genre of the 1970s.
