Public Enemies (2009)
During the Great Depression, notorious bank robber John Dillinger gains widespread attention for his daring heists and charismatic persona, becoming a symbol of resistance to many Americans. His growing notoriety puts him in direct conflict with J. Edgar Hoover, head of the newly empowered FBI, who is determined to end Dillinger’s criminal activities.
In an effort to capture him, Hoover labels Dillinger as Public Enemy Number One and assigns his top agent, Melvin Purvis, to track down the elusive outlaw. The hunt pits Purvis and the FBI against a clever and resourceful fugitive, setting the stage for a high-stakes chase across the Midwest.
