Zach Hutton, a novelist struggling with severe writer’s block, faces turmoil after both his wife and mistress leave him. His life in disarray, Zach sinks deeper into heavy drinking and fleeting romantic encounters, unable to regain control over his personal and creative struggles.

Amidst the chaos, Zach finds some support from a bartender and his therapist, who encourage him to confront his dependence on alcohol and his complicated relationships with women. The story centers on his efforts to face these challenges while navigating the difficulties of isolation and self-destruction.
