Star Trek: First Contact (1996)

Captain Jean-Luc Picard disobeys orders and leads the USS Enterprise E on a mission to stop the Borg, a cybernetic collective, from reaching Earth. As the Borg set a course to assimilate humanity and alter the future, Picard and his crew travel back in time to the pivotal moment when humanity first makes contact with an alien species.

The Enterprise team, including Commander Riker and Lieutenant Commander Data, must battle the Borg threat while protecting historic events critical to the founding of the Federation. Their efforts are focused on securing Earth and preserving the timeline against an enemy determined to absorb all life and technology.
