Klaatu, an emissary of an advanced alien species that evolved by surviving its own climate catastrophe, arrives on Earth to evaluate humanity’s ability to halt environmental destruction. His mission is to determine whether humans can change their behavior before the planet itself is irrevocably damaged.

When Klaatu is prevented from addressing the United Nations, he concludes that drastic measures may be necessary to protect Earth’s future. As tensions rise, scientist Helen Benson and her stepson Jacob become central to the unfolding crisis that could determine the fate of humankind.
