The Great Race (1965)
The Great Leslie, a daring and impeccably dressed stuntman, persuades early automobile manufacturers to sponsor a transcontinental race from New York to Paris. The route challenges competitors to cross the United States, the frozen Bering Strait, and vast stretches of Russia, testing both man and machine in a grueling contest. Leslie sees this event as an opportunity to showcase the future of the automobile.
However, his longtime rival Professor Fate, known for his black attire and sinister mustache, vows to outpace Leslie using a car of his own invention. As the two clash on this epic journey, their fierce competition drives a series of comedic and adventurous encounters with diverse landscapes and obstacles, making it a race of wits, speed, and determination.
