In a future North America divided into twelve districts under the control of the Capitol, each year two young tributes are selected from every district to participate in the Hunger Games, a brutal fight to the death broadcast for the amusement of the Capitol’s citizens. When her younger sister Prim is chosen, Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her place, thrusting herself into a deadly competition where survival depends on skill, strategy, and alliances.

Katniss is joined by Peeta Mellark, the other tribute from District 12, as they navigate the dangerous arena under constant watch. With the Capitol’s manipulation and the deadly environment around them, their challenge becomes not only to outlast other competitors but to resist the oppressive control of President Snow’s regime.
