The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band (1968)

The Bower family, consisting of eleven lively members including Grandpa Bower, Calvin, Katie, and their children Sidney, Alice, and others, set out for the Dakota Territory to start a new life. As they settle into their homestead, the challenges of frontier life and the significance of their musical talents shape their daily experiences. The family’s close-knit dynamic and shared love for music become central to their identity in the expanding western landscape.

Among the family, Alice forms a connection with Joe Carder, a local figure, while interactions with neighbors and townsfolk like Mr. Wampler and Charlie Wrenn bring both opportunities and obstacles. Through gatherings filled with song and community events, the Bowers strive to maintain their heritage and unity amid the hardships of pioneering life, all while preparing to make a name for themselves in their new home.
