The Secret of Moonacre (2008)

After the death of her father, 13-year-old Maria Merryweather must leave her comfortable life in London to live with her mysterious uncle, Sir Benjamin, at Moonacre Manor. The sprawling estate is filled with strange secrets and magical lore that Maria has never encountered before. As she adjusts to her new surroundings, Maria discovers that her family’s past is entwined with ancient rivalries and hidden dangers.

At Moonacre, Maria meets a cast of intriguing characters, including Sir Benjamin and other inhabitants who hold the key to unlocking the estate’s mysteries. She soon realizes that her arrival is linked to an important quest, one that requires bravery and cleverness to restore balance to the enchanted land. With time running out, Maria must navigate unfamiliar challenges in a world where fantasy and reality collide.
