In a near-future world where advanced robotics are part of everyday life, Cybertronics creates David, a robotic boy designed to experience love. David is adopted by Henry and Monica Swinton as an experimental replacement for their critically ill son. As David tries to become a real part of the family, he struggles to find his place between human and machine, facing a growing distance from the people around him.

When unforeseen events disrupt David’s life with the Swintons, he embarks on a journey beyond the safe confines of his adoptive home. Along the way, he encounters a variety of characters, including other robots and humans, while navigating a society that is both fascinated and fearful of artificial life. David’s quest is driven by his desire to belong and be accepted as more than just a machine.
