Cliffhanger (1993) is an action-adventure film directed by Renny Harlin, starring Sylvester Stallone as Gabe Walker, a mountain rescue ranger haunted by a tragic accident. The story begins when Gabe, unable to save a fellow climber, leaves his job in despair. Months later, he returns to the Rocky Mountains, where he’s drawn into a dangerous mission when a group of ruthless criminals led by Eric Qualen (John Lithgow) hijacks a U.S. Treasury plane and steals $100 million in cash. However, the plane crashes in the mountains, scattering the money across the rugged terrain.

Gabe, along with his former friend and fellow ranger, Hal Tucker (Michael Rooker), is forced by the criminals to help them retrieve the lost money. As they scale dangerous cliffs and navigate the treacherous wilderness, Gabe must outwit the heavily armed gang and save both himself and Hal. With its intense action sequences, including daring stunts on sheer mountain faces, Cliffhanger delivers a high-stakes, adrenaline-filled adventure as Gabe battles both the elements and the villains. The film is known for its thrilling set pieces and Stallone’s portrayal of a man seeking redemption.
