Girl, Interrupted (1999)

In the late 1960s, Susanna Kaysen is admitted to a psychiatric hospital after being prescribed a brief rest by a psychiatrist. Within the hospital’s walls, Susanna encounters other patients, including the rebellious Lisa and fragile Daisy, each grappling with their own mental health challenges. The facility becomes a confined world where the boundary between sanity and madness feels uncertain.

As Susanna navigates life inside the institution, she faces the difficulty of being labeled and confined, questioning what normal really means. Surrounded by the hospital staff and fellow patients, she must confront whether she can reclaim her place in the outside world or remain trapped in this new reality.
