The Blair Witch Project (1999)

In October 1994, three student filmmakers—Heather Donahue, Joshua Leonard, and Michael Williams—venture into the woods near Burkittsville, Maryland to document the local legend of the Blair Witch. Their goal is to uncover evidence of the mysterious entity said to haunt the area. As they delve deeper into the forest, the trio encounters strange sounds and increasingly unsettling occurrences that challenge their resolve and the safety of their expedition.

A year after their disappearance, the recovered footage provides a chilling record of their journey into the wilderness. The film presents this raw compilation of their experiences, capturing their growing fear and confusion as they navigate the dense, disorienting forest. The lost tape raises questions about what happened to the students and the nature of the haunting presence they sought to reveal.
