Flashdance (1983)

Alex Owens works by day as a welder in a steel mill and by night as a dancer at a local bar, determined to pursue her dream of becoming a professional ballet dancer. Despite her unconventional path, she dedicates herself to rigorous dance practice and submits an application to a prestigious dance conservatory.

Nick, who is both her boss at the mill and her romantic partner, offers encouragement and support as Alex struggles to balance her demanding jobs with training. The story centers on her efforts to prove her talent and overcome obstacles in pursuit of a chance at a formal dance career.
